Empower Yourself: A Path to Lasting Change

by Sana Barada

I’m Dr. Sana Barada, a pharmacologist specializing in addiction treatment. Through my work, I aim to help individuals break free from harmful habits and create sustainable, healthy lifestyles. My approach focuses on two areas: prevention and maintenance, and personalized one-on-one support.

In my Prevention and Maintenance program, I offer a course that builds life skills to enhance self-awareness, autonomy, and productivity. The goal is not only to change behaviors but to shift mindsets, fostering self-leadership and well-being. Key topics we explore include:

  • Tools for eliminating harmful habits and embracing healthy ones
  • Self-awareness & decision-making
  • Empathy and interpersonal relationships
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving
  • Effective communication and creativity

For those seeking a more tailored approach, my One-on-One Support sessions are designed to help patients address addictive behaviors—whether related to substances like alcohol and nicotine or to food, electronics or relationships. My background as a clinical pharmacologist allows me to take a unique approach by studying the interactions between substances, behaviors, and the body.

I believe in empowering my patients with knowledge and self-awareness so that they no longer see their challenges as “illnesses” but as coping strategies belonging to past experiences. Together, we work to reshape these behaviors in a way that serves their well-being and makes them become their strength!

What truly sets my approach apart is my personal journey. Having overcome bulimia and anorexia, I know firsthand the struggle and the profound power of transformation. This personal experience fuels my commitment to guiding others toward the same sense of freedom and peace I have found.

One-on-One Support for Sustainable Weight Loss:

In today’s world, pharmacological solutions for weight loss, such as Ozempic and Zepbound, have become increasingly popular. While these medications offer great potential, achieving long-term success requires more than just taking the drug. This is where my ‘One-on-One Support’ comes in.

I provide personalized guidance for individuals undergoing pharmacological treatments for weight loss, ensuring that the therapy is not only effective but that the results are sustainable over time. My approach combines scientific expertise with behavioral strategies to address the root of weight issues. By working closely with patients, I help them build new habits, avoid the risk of relapse, and fully integrate these medications into a broader health strategy. While the medication is necessary, my goal is to prepare them for a future where they can maintain their results independently, transitioning away from the medication when they are ready.

The result is not just a temporary fix but a lasting transformation in how they relate to food, their bodies, and their health.
