For those of you that didn’t get a chance to attend our January meeting, we listened to the life story of Olympic rhythmic gymnast champion, Emilie Goldblum, formally known as Emilie Livingston. Determined at 10 to pursue her dream, she convinced her mom to allow her train in Russia. She would not take no for an answer, which eventually allowed her to train 3 months a year in Russia at an early age. Her pursuit of passion led her to championship, landing her a gold medal in 1999, representing Canada. She is a three-time national champion of Canada in rhythmic gymnastics. From there, she pursued a theater passion and more time in the United States, which she was eventually able to achieve by finding an agent to sponsor her. She has enjoyed various roles including being a back-up dancer and body double. She is an aerialist and a contortionist. Like many of us, she also followed her pursuit to live in Tuscany, where she now resides with her husband and two children. Fortunately, she is half French, which was a factor in the decision making process to reside here. Some of you looking to pursue a new passion may be interested in attending a course that she teaches and will be sharing with WINNERS soon.
